Kantha Pillow

My Dad died last week and I’m trying a little retail therapy. This green pillow made me happy. I’ll always think of him when I see it. He loved to be outside, running cross country.

Vintage 100% cotton kantha pillow. This gorgeously vibrant pillow is made from vintage hand-quilted Indian sari. Each quilt is pieced together from reclaimed cotton sari and hand sewn incorporating various patches of coordinating fabrics. 22″x22″” knife edge pillow with included 90/10% Feather/Down insert. Pillows are finished throughout and have an envelope closure.  Etsy: $128.00

Time for a New Look

I’ve been working from home for the last 9 years, and what’s left of my wardrobe is a disaster. I’ve started to look like a homeless person. So in addition to planning a new home, I’m dreaming of a new look. Rachel Zoe could make a brown paper bag stylish. With basic black, white and tan as staples I can add the accessories I love, without being over the top. What follows is a collection of ideas.

Bed Ideas for the Barge

I’m still dreaming about living on a converted barge. Space is at a premium, so each item must be functional, and double purpose if possible. I’m not known for always being that practical, so a few are just beds that I love. A girl has to dream sometimes.

Modern Houseboat

I’m fascinated with living on a houseboat in France right now. Probably the stress of working 15 hours a day, alone, in an isolated house. I want to be part of a community of fun people. But, I don’t think I could take the typical Captain’s Club look for more than a week. I want a bright, modern, hip houseboat. Not many around, but the ones that you find really stand out. Here’s an example.
